It is true. The type of people you hang out with reflects on who you are…
If you want to be successful and wealthy then it is very important to surround yourself with successful and wealthy people. Successful people often talk about taking actions towards their dreams and then they do it! This is not only motivating for you but it teaches you the mindset and skills you will need and use for the rest of your life. Some people are natural born leaders and some are not. By surrounding yourself with leaders you will find that you begin to pick up leadership skills that you never knew you had. Remember, people will follow people whom are confident and believe in themselves. It is human nature to follow leaders or become leaders. You must decide which one you will be.
Stay away from the dream killers. You know who they are. The people that scoff at you when you tell them your dreams or you get excited over a new business idea. They see the negative in everything and believe that your MLM or internet marketing business opportunity is a scam or a pipe dream. Whatever you do, do not let them bring you down. Use the dream killer’s negativity as a leverage to pull yourself away from their influence and make it a goal to prove them wrong! Believe in yourself and success will happen.

Very inspiring! Thank you for this message. Reminds me of the story of the Black Crabs that Robert Kiyosake talks about in “Rich Dad, Poor Dad.” Bunch of crabs were caught in a bucket ready to be cooked, and one sees light at the top and believes that their is hope. Just as the one crab tries to make it over the top and escape to freedom, another crab pulls him back down, so he can share with him his misery.
Yeah stay away from the naysayers, and surround yourself with positive people. I’ve heard it said that you are the average of the top 5 people you hang around with.

Hey Kirk,
LOL – It is true what your mother said about taking care of your body. I certainly have noticed I need to focus more on keeping my body in shape now that I work at home. Thank God for my Beachbody P90 workout DVDs!

At first glance, I thought that this was just another blog with high hopes of mass follows and comments and then I noticed after flipping back and forth from what I was doing that you had a gift in motivating me to read more. Thanks for writing this article and sharing it with the world. I enjoy what you said about dreamkillers. Those type of people are ones that I have found myself surrounded by for WAY too long. Over the past year, I identified these people and they are no longer a part of my life or I ignore them. I believe that I am a much happier person because of this and though things may be hard, I NEVER lose confidence and always strive to do the best I can. It is my sincere hope that in the upcoming years of my life I can be seen as the “leader” that I have the potential to be, both in my industry AND in my personal life. GREAT Read, 5 stars!

Hi Carrie! I just met you on Twitter and I wanted to say HI
I totally agree with the statement, “You Are Who You Associate With”. In fact your outer world quite accurately portrays your inner thoughts and your mind – what it spends its time ruminating on. This means we are directly responsible for what shows up in out life. No one else is responsible in any way shape or form.
What does this indicate? It indicates that we have the ability to make the decision to jump in the driver seat. This takes time and patience and it also takes the commitment to learn about our mind- how it works.
How to speed up the process of learning the mind? Meditation. Best of luck!
